hi i'm
Asher
Memon
currently exploring ai, programming and robotics
- ⦾ currently designing at Maize, an agricultural drone startup
- ⦾ founder & developer of Meal Mash, generating tasty meals with what you have
- ⦾ built EyeType, free alternative communication through eye tracking
- ⦾ competing for my school's VEX robotics team
Outside of screens, I enjoy spending time in nature, hitting the gym and playing basketball with friends. I also have an orange cat named Charlie who's always curled up beside me!
projects and other experience
An app that generates tasty meals with what you have at home
Free alternative communication software (eye tracking)
A game where you rush to deliver a goodbye letter to your cat friend in your makeshift cardboard car! Made entirely in 4 days!
older projects
A top-down game promoting recycling, built in 4 days
A cat adventure platformer I developed while learning Unity
A game that teaches players fundamental programming concepts

Meal Mash
may 2025 — present
Meal Mash turns whatever's left in your fridge into your next
meal. The app aims to both save food from going to waste and
save time by generating quick recipes using your ingredients
and leftovers. I began development as an assignment for a
programming class with a simple prototype, however, since
then, I have redesigned and completely reshaped the app! Snap
a photo of your pantry and swipe through tasty recipes until
you find one you want to make!

Meow or Never
96 hour game jam (July)
A cool little 3d cat driving game I made solo for the GMTK
game jam 2026!
Two cats named Cloud and Bean are close friends that live in
log houses deep in the forest. One day when Bean arrives to
their usual hangout spot, Cloud is nowhere to be found. After
searching, Bean finds a mysterious sticky note from Cloud:
"I'm sorry I couldn't say goodbye. I'm leaving today at 8am"
Bean realizes that Cloud is moving away with his human and
plans to deliver a letter to say goodbye. He writes a letter,
makes his own car out of cardboard and sets out to give Cloud
his letter and say goodbye! As the time counts down towards
Cloud's flight, Bean has to hurry to make it in time while
being careful with his fragile cardboard car.

EyeType
october 2025 — present
EyeType is a web-based augmentative and alternative
communication software built for individuals with severe motor
impairments including ALS, cerebral palsy, and muscular
dystrophy. It uses eye tracking and a fine-tuned LLM to
significantly outperform baselines and make communication
easier for those with motor impairments. The user simply types
the first letter of each word, and the software automatically
predicts complete phrases based on the context of the
conversation. It is completely free and requires no external
hardware.

Web Portal
2023A submission and voting portal built for my Web Dev class, where classmates could publish their own sites, browse everyone else's, and vote on favourites. Built in collaboration with another student.
Code Kitty
2023
CodeKitty is a game about a cat who learns to code through
interactive lessons and minigames! It aims to teach players
fundamental programming concepts in a fun and engaging format.

Roy the Garbage Boy
2023
Roy The Garbage Boy is a game made to promote recycling for
vsHacks2023 (4-day online hackathon). You play as Roy, a boy
who fights vicious trash enemies littered in the beautiful
environment around him. Roy recycles the garbage scraps he
gets from killing the enemies to upgrade his own gear to
continue fighting more trash monsters!

City of the Cats
2023
City of the Cats is an adventure game where you play as a lost
cat trying to save the city from monsters. While exploring,
you rescue other cats, avoid enemies and collect cat treats! I
made this game to learn Unity and how to make pixel art for
the first time!

Maize Drones
Co-leading app design and contributing to early-stage mobile development for an agricultural drone startup.
- Designed a complete mobile app Figma prototype from scratch
- Focused on translating complex drone data into actionable alerts for farmers
- Working directly with the founding team to shape early product development
Secure Defence Corporation
Supported live video surveillance infrastructure for construction sites across British Columbia and Alberta.
- Configured networking hardware including access points and cellular routers for use at construction sites
- Built and provisioned high-end servers for the monitoring office
The University of British Columbia
Volunteered a full camp week (45+ hours) at UBC's astronomy Phenomenal Physics camp. Responsibilities included setting up and tidying classrooms, leading activities, and mentoring students throughout the sessions.
RAPS (Regional Animal Protection Society)
Greeted visitors at the RAPS Cat Sanctuary, answered their questions, ensured they followed the rules, and promoted animal welfare education.
Stanley Park Ecology Society
Helped manage and remove invasive plant species to support habitat conservation and restoration efforts in Stanley Park.
skills
I learned Figma in my Web Development 10 class and use it to design before developing for projects like Meal Mash, EyeType and the Maize app.
I use React Native for app development (Meal Mash), and use React for web apps like EyeType.
Programmer and notebooker for one of my school's robotics teams. Helped the team qualify for the provincial championship in Grade 11. I plan to compete again next year.
I apply machine learning to my newer projects including fine-tuning the abbreviation expansion AI model for EyeType. I am also working on incorporating computer vision AI into Meal Mash with a pantry scan feature (snap a photo of the ingredients you have to add them).
I used to use Unity a lot for developing 2D platformer games. I recently got back into developing in Unity with Meow or Never for a game jam!
I learned Blender in a week and made a Youtube video on it! I also made this scene recently for a Media Arts class assignment!
languages
I learned Java when doing some Minecraft modding when I was younger, and, more recently, through taking AP Computer Science.
Python was the first language I learned, mostly to make games with PyGame.
I've used C++ mostly for the CCC contest and for robotics programming (and Arduino).
Learned JavaScript along with HTML and CSS for Web Development 10 class. React and React Native are JavaScript libraries, so most of my projects now are written in JS.
